Warm up with some wine at Pinot, the wine superstore in Old City. The Wine School of Philadelphia will hold its first class, "Wine 101" on Wednesday. It's a primer on how to choose and enjoy wine, and it's at Pinot's Downstairs, a tasting grotto in an intimate, wine cellar-like environment.

Build and Store It!
Wine cellar, you say? Even if you barely have room in your apartment for yourself and an overweight cat? According to pinot owner Dan Soskin, there's a wine storage solution—from wall racks to tasting tables with built-in storage—for every sized space. Learn what options are available for your budget and space limitations. (My grandmom wants to know if they have a storage solution for her burgeoning collection of half-gallon jugs of Carlo Rossi.) By April White

Gourmet stores, are becoming ever more frequent in the city’s landscape, but newest-comer Pinot (227 Market Street; 215-627-9463) caters to an even more refined niche: the gourmet-accessory crowd. I like Pinot.
I've already procured a handful of funky items from the boutique, both useful (the "Rabbit" corkscrew is seriously worth that $$ price tag, I kid you not) & decorative (a fun wooden retro-mod wine rack).  They seem to have a nice broad selection of quality items for both wine drinkers & cocktail enthusiasts.
Pinot usually some has some neat little event going on inside for Old City's "First Fridays" as well.
I have no complaints about the boutique & have found the staff to be helpful & knowledgeable...
